Fortune & Glory is a desert exploration with a legendary treasure - and more than a few traps. Put on your fedora and ready your whip for this tough, buried-temple adventure! Fortune & Glory is a 5th Edition compatible adventure for 4-6 players with an Average Company Level of 5/8/10 - or even higher if you want to harden the temple's defenses against the company!
The side quest is suited for a short adventure on its own or as an easy transition adventure for your desert-themed campaign.
The Moon Gate leads the characters to the blistering heat of a desert valley. The sands themselves are imbued with magic, twisting their efforts at charting their position in this vast desert land. Sandstorms containing Dust Mephits impede their progress toward the shelter of the mountain ranges, and they fear becoming hopelessly lost. The company happens upon a camp of traders under attack by a raiding party of Reptilians, where they learn of a nearby ruin rumored to be filled with the treasures kept by the gods themselves.
The ruins are guarded by the traveling raiders, and heavily trapped by the priests of old. Excavations have uncovered deadly mechanisms as well as items the company could only dream of bringing back to their own civilization. The trail of coins will lead them deeper into The Buried Temple, where the treasure itself will summon assistance in the form of Fire Elementals or Efreeti to its aid, before animating into a fearsome Treasure Golem that uses its own treasures to defend the magicks contained within its massive form.
Can the company survive a dangerous gauntlet of attacks from the treasure they seek and return home with Fortune and Glory?

Moon Gate adventures are written for and inspired by the characters that are brought to the table. My games have inspirations instead of dedications, and this exploration is filled with nods to encounters that have left lasting impressions upon my players.
